Pregnant, Done With My Pelvic Scan. Can Some Online Doctor Help Me Read This?
I am pregnant and had a bleeding and went for 3-D color Doppler pelvic scan and the result says this: Uterus:anteverted and harbors mid zone collapsed gestational sac. There is no fetal parts or cardiac motions seen within the sac. Adnexae: Bilaterally normal. No pathological masses seen. POD: contains mild fluid. Upper abdominal organs are normal. No evidence of haemoperitoneum. What does it mean and what should I do?
Your pelvic Doppler ultrasound scan shows that there is a gestational sac which has collapsed and shows no fetal parts within. This means for some reason you had the bleeding which led to loss of your pregnancy. You must consult your gynecologist and take medications to cause expulsion of the products of conception. Once you feel that the remnants of your pregnancy have come out, you need to get another repeat pelvic ultrasound to be sure that all the contents have come out. This can be done after about 10 days from taking medication. This is done so that your doctor is sure your uterine cavity is free from any pregnancy products which if present can give rise to infection.
Hope this helps
