Hi, Your
rash could be a result of weight gain around the thighs and butts, causes them to rub . However, since this has spread to the butts, there could be a possibility of infection. A more detailed history (presence of pain, description of rashes, rashes anywhere else on the body, discharge from vagina, sexual history, sharing shorts with friends, etc) and physical exam is warranted here.
Here are a couple of things that can be done to help:
1. Wear loose dresses (skirts, frocks), loose undergarment and change them frequently to maintain good ventilation. Keep the area dry.
2. Stop using the
baby powder or any other female hygiene product as these products can interfere with the pH of your vagina, thereby putting you at risk of infection.
3. Antibiotic
ointments can be used depending on the presence and type of infection but for this you will need a physical exam first. It could be a yeast infection. If there are blisters , it could be
herpes and so on. In case of infection, any delay in treatment can lead to worsening of condition.
3. Take note of any pus, discharge, abrasion, vesicles, spread. If any of these present (in your case it is spreading), you should see a doctor at the earliest.
4. Use condoms and maintain good perineal and sexual hygiene.
5. Drink lots of water to prevent potential UTI or to flush out any
urinary tract infection
