Pregnant, Traces Of Blood, Ketone, Protein In Urine. No Symptoms Of UTI. Are All Related?
I am 17 and a half weeks pregnant and tested positive for trace amounts of blood, ketones and protein in my urine a my 16wk appt.. I have since bought a bottle of chemstrips t check every other day. Some days everything is normal and other days the trace amounts show. I have no symptoms of a UTI but nothing else seems logical. Are the ketones, blood and protein related?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Ketones , protein, blood in urine all are related and may be due to . 1Gestational diabetes ( pregnancy diabetes) , diagnosis can be confirmed by HB A1 Cand blood sugar level examination. Ketoacidosis is most common disorder in such type of signs . 2 Chronic renal failure , diagnosis can be confirmed bu serum creatinine level with blood urea examination. Ultrasound of both kidneys will find the exact condition as pregnancy is just 18 weeks, so it is possible. 3 Hyper tension may be due to pregnancy , diagnosis can be confirmed by examination of blood pressure. In my opinion consult a gynecologist/ physician and simultaneously deal according to condition till delivery of child. This is a cause of concern. Good luck for you & your baby. Dr. HET
