Prescribed Pms Metoclopramide For Nausea. On Stelera For Pouchitis. History Of Colectomy And Splenectomy. Is Prescribed Medicine Safe?
I am on the drug stelera for pouchitis. I have had a complete colectomy and splenectomy. I have an ileonal pouch and often get pouchitis. That is why my doctor put me on stelera. I have been on it since August. The past few weeks I am getting nausea every time I eat, but not durung the night. My doctor just prescribed pmsMetoclopramide. I was thinking that the nausea might be an effect of the stelera, but I was told it would have happened sooner. I haven t started the prescription yet. Any feedback?
Eventhough we regularly use Metoclopramide for nausea and vomiting it does carry a small risk of CNS side effects in the form of stiffness of limbs (which reverses on stopping the drug), I suggest Ondansetron over metochopramide as it is relatively a safer drug
I hope I was of help
Regards
