Probable Hashimotos. Been On Thyroxine. Unable To Lose Weight. Reason?
Diagnosed with probable Hashimoto's 1 year ago...have been on Thyroxine in Australia 50mcg / 5 days a week....am 58 years old. My weight has always been up and down 5 to 10 pounds, but since being on the Thyroxine and trying to eat a lot less than usual, my weight is just not budging for the first time ever. In addition I am exercising 7 days a week
Without thyroxine , a person causes accumulation of water in the body and causes a 3-5 kg increase in body weight , but when you start to take thyroxine , this waters is excreted out and then your weight decreases, continue taking thyroxine , with exercises and your weight will remain constant always.
Hope this helps
Take care
