Put Vitamin E Oil On Eyelids As A Moisturizer, Vomited, Eyelids Swollen. Does Vomiting Cause Swollen Eyelids?. Is It Possible To Be Allergic To Vitamin E Oil?
Does vomiting cause swollen eyelids? Also, is it possible to be allergic to vitamin E oil? Yesterday, I put vitamin e oil on my eyelids as a moisturizer and also vomited (I am bulimic) and the next morning my eyelids were so swollen and puffy, with a red rash all around the area I had put vitamin E oil on. I am not sure which was the culprit for cause of puffy lids and rash, but thinking it may be a combination of both?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM. Q. Does vomiting cause swollen eyelids?. No. But bith these symptoms can come together for some other systemic pathological causes. Q. Is it possible to be allergic to vitamin E oil? The history and the effects suggest the problem is due to the Vit E oil you applied on eye lid. Clearly wash your eye with soap water and dry it with cotton cloth. Just press it to absorb the water and don't rub. Red rash may be due to allergy or infection.Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Vidya
