Red Bumps Around Lip Piercing, No Pain, Tingling, Burning, Itchy
I have tiny red bumps around my lip piercing, I noticed I got them after I sprayed sea salt. The bumps don t hurt and I can t feel them, but they do tingle or burn from time to time, they re also sometimes itchy. I got my lip piercing 4 days ago. I also used a Lip-balm that I haven t used in a long time 2 days ago. I m not sure if the piercing or the lip-balm have anything to do with it, but i would like to know what it could be and how it could be helped.
From the information you have given it looks like you are having contact dermatitis. I hope you have got your piercing done by a dermatologist under aseptic precautions and the jewellery that has been used is not made of nickle.
I usually recommend TT injections before the procedure and a course of oral antibiotics, antibiotic cream and NSAIDS following the piercing to prevent any infection. It is important to follow good hygiene following the piercing 1.Wash your face with mild soap. 2.Avoid using any make up,lipstick, lipbalm or any kind of irritant for over the region for 1 week. 3. Don't meddle with the jewellery often. 3.complete the course of antibiotics.
Hope it helps,
