Red Bumps On Inner Eyelids, Swelling, Not A Stye Or Conjunctivitis. Causes For Symptoms?
I have small hard red bumps which appear on my inner eyelids which scratch my eyes and causes themm to swell up, I went see someone about this about 10 years ago and though they told me what this was, and it seams to have clamed down since but now has flaired up again, its not a stye, or conjunctivitus, do you know what this could be called?
Hi
Welcome to HCM.
Since the red bumps you have mentioned is associated with itching, I am thinking more in terms of,Conjunctival Papillae, which occurs in Allergic conjunctivitis. The more you rub your eyes, it is going to release more of the substance causing itching. You need a direct examination to confirm this and if I am correct, then, depending on the severity , you will be started on anti allergic eye drops with a short course of steroid eye drops.
So, stop rubbing, wash your eyes frequently, give cool compresses and clean your sheets and pillow covers once every week and if you are a contact lens user, then stop wearing them until consultation.
Hope you get well soon. Take care.
