Red Dry Spots On My Stomach And Inner Thighs, Irritation In Armpits, Stretch Marks. Was On Steroids. Will It Clear Up?

I have red dry spots on my stomach and inner thighs as well as irritation in my armpits. A doctor had told me its a yeast infection and prescribed me an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and steroid to help with the itch. After a year with little improvement I finally got to see a dermatologist and she said to get off the steroids which I did, after a week I developed severe stretch marks on the application sites. It is now a couple months since and the stretch marks have jus about cleared up but now the red spots are coming back. Please help.

your suferring from a condition called seborrheic dermatitis which is baslcally fungal or yeast infection of pilosebaceous units caused my yeast called malassezia formelyknown as pitrosporum ovale ,condition predominates in hairy areas groin ,scalp, intertriginous area charceterised by extremely itchy salmon colored ,waxy ,scaling patches ,since you were on treatment with antifungal ,steroids for a year & later your skin expert has stopped steroid is very correct . the stretch marks stated by u which have faded off now were side effects of steroid overuse called as steroid induced striae ,i would suggest u to be in touch with skin expert every fortnightlyto evaluate your skin status until lesions on skin clear completely ,& do not take over the counter prescription of dermatologist or family physcian for years as it can lead to serious side effects
