Red Veins Above Ankles, Swelling, Painful While Walking. Returned From A Trip. Any Ideas?

I just returned from a trip to Disney. The last couple of days I developed red veins above both my ankles. I had a lot of swelling and the skin would stay pushed in when touched. Does this sound serious? I have been home a day and kept them elevated a good bit. The swelling is better but the red veins are still promiment. I also experienced some pain while walking on them. Thanks

Hello,

Red veins and swelling of the foot may be caused by

Thrombophlebitis.(Inflammation of the veins) may be caused by trauma to the veins.
Venous stasis due to extensive walks and standing.

Need to consult your doctor to find the cause and treat accordingly.
