Required To Redo The Surgery For A Macular Hole, Insertion Of Liquid To See It It Stretches. Opinions ?
I had surgery for a macular hole. I didn't know how long the hole had been there since I some how forgot to get an eye exam last year. It is quite a large hole did the head down thing for 7 days w/ gass bubble and the hole is still there. My retina doctor wants to redo the surgery and insert some liquid in the macular to see if it will stretch to cover the hole and put a larger gas bubble that will last a month. What is your opinion
Hello, Macular hole surgeries are complicated ones and it is possible that you may require one or more surgeries for its treatment and most importantly post operative head down position is important for settling of the macular hole. If you have more details like pre operative photographs or specific type of surgery which you have undergone, I can advice you further in this case. Thank you
