a cyst is fluid filled a bag. Its very common in young females and treatment is wait and watch or medicine or surgery depending upon the case. In your case, your ovary is having a single cyst but its very big in size. This big cyst can't be treated alone with medical therapy. It has to be operated as there are likely chances of rupture in the future and condition can worsen. The gynaecologist wants to be sure that this cyst is benign so the Dr wants it to be tested pathologically after surgical removal. So there is nothing to much worry just follow your Gynec doctor instruction.
