Serum Calcium Level, Parathyroid Level Elevated, Post Breast Cancer Treatment. What Might Be The Cause?
My serum calcium level is elevated, my parathyroid level is elevated, has been a quite some time, I am post breast cancer treatment (less than 1 year), chemo induced CHF. What s causing the elevation in calcium and pth? I look in the mirror and my left cheek bone seems a little protruded. Diagnosed with osteopenia.
Hi, I feel your elevated serum calcium and serum parathyroid levels are unrelated to your breast cancer treatment, since cancer induced hypercalcemia is usually associated with a low parathyroid levels. You should get yourself evaluated for the cause of high calcium & PTH. Meanwhile you should continue to maintain good hydration.Take lots of fluids ,moderate amount of calcium and vitamin D supplementation Hope it helps.
