Severe Edema, On Multiple Pain Killers. Diagnosed Fibromyalgia. Any Alternative Therapy Can Help?
Hi, Patient is a 66 year old female, suffering from severe oedema(Edema). In severe pain. On multiple pain killers( paracetamol, tramadol, pregabalin) , amytryptyline and furosemide(diuretic) also losartan for blood pressure. Symptoms appeared to get worse when she recommenced statins(pravastatin). Had been on steroids but stopped following bloating. Has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and told that cause is unknown and that a cure is unlikely and that only the underlying symptoms can be treated to attempt to minimise pain. Now considering alternative therapies including accupuncture and manual lymphatic drainage. Any help and advice would be most welcome as she feels she cannot continue in this amount of discomfort and pain any more. Many thanks.

Take analgesic with anti-inflammatory , physiotherapy , hot fomentation, daily morning walk, joint stretches .Meditation. biologics like infliximab, anakinara are now available.
