I ve been having severe knee pains that won t go away. Whenever I walk down the stairs and just walking in general is hard. I ve never had an injury and its been 2 weeks and my knee still doesn t feel better. I ve iced it 2 times aday and that don t work. There s also no swelling . I havent had no injury i just woke up one day and it started hurting. What s wrong with my knee?
From your description, you are mostly likely having polyarthritis which can be due to a good number of causes such as infection, gout (unlikely as there is no swelling), rheumatic diseases, weight, aging ( depending on if overweight or aged). You will need to pay a visit to a GP or rheumatologist for proper evaluation. Blood tests, x-ray, ASLO test, Rheumatoid factor test, uric acid test and even analysis of serum calcium will have to be done in order to determine the cause of your arthritis. If no cause is identified, then it is most likely a non-septic arthritis that can be caused by weight, age, strain/stress etc. Steroidal or non-steroidal antiinflammatory will have to be prescribed in order to manage the pain and if cause is identified should be treated accordingly.
Hope this helps
