how long back did you undergo dental treatment ? your symptoms point towards neurological involvement though it would be premature to arrive at a conclusion . i advise you to wait for a few days to let the problem subside on its own. however if the pain persists you might be needing expert neurologist's opinion.

hi , the dental work you got if it involved the use of anaesthesia (injection) it might have caused injury to some nerve as the whole left side of the face is supplied by the same nerve, or if the work involved a filling it may be causing pressure and leading to nerve pain, in that case it needs to be removed. Do visit your dentist and get a detailed examination done to get a proper diagnosis.

as per your quiery,its not clear that whatkind of dental work have you got done,.
if you got your decayed tooth filled without removing the infected dentin or pulp,it can cause such pain.visit your dentist and get an x-ray of the filled tooth.this will help to rule out any periapical lesion if present.
depending on the spread of infection of pulp,pulp capping/pulpotomy/root canal treatment has to be done.
also check whether your wisdom tooth has got infected.if so get it extracted.
avoid chewing food at the restored area.
usually given medicines are-tab.divon-100mg,twice daily for 3 days and tab.spamox-500mg-thrice daily for 3 days.
maintain good oral hygiene.visit your dentist in every 6 months.

Chances are due to having your jaw open you have inflammation in your jaw muscles and joint. This can radiate through your temple. Another possibility could be that the restoration was deep and the nerve needs to be taken out with a root canal. Or possibly the restoration is high, you are biting on the filling first and throwing off the balance on your jaw. This can cause a great amount of pain and it won't go away until the bite is adjusted. You should take an non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for a few days to see if the pain will go away.

Take 800mg ibuprofen every six hours not exceeding 3200mg a day. Three times a day take and apply warm moist heat to your face 20 minutes on 10 minutes off for one hour. A sock with uncooked rice microwaved for a few minutes works great.

First it is very important to know the kind of work which has been done on your left side of the jaw.
Normal tooth extraction never tend to cause such complication. If you have undergone any extensive surgical procedure on left side like difficult third molar extraction giving more pressure on left Temporo mandibular joint may cause such pain in severe conditions only.
If you have undergone any tooth filling, then if there are High points remaining on the same filling which put more load on TM Joint of that side & cause pain in the jaw & temporal region.
If High points on the filling are the culprit, then grinding will be done by your dentist to remove those high points & problem will be solved immediately.
For all this to diagnose, take second opinion & it will be better to visit any Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon as they may do detailed investigation related to your condition.
