Sharp Pain In Knuckle Of Index Finger, Severe Pain On Touching. Using Ibuprofen. Treatment?
I have a sharp pain in the knuckle of my index finger on my left hand . I m right handed and the pain came on all of a sudden this past week. No prior injuries to this hand. Ibuprofen works most of the time, but last night after the ibuprofen seemed to be working, my wife tapped my hand and the pain was almost unbearable. What do you think this could be?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it seems to be due to tendonitis since there is no history of injury to the area.
Taking ibuprofen regularly and doing a hot fomentation will help in improvement over next 2 weeks.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
