Sharp Shooting Pains On The Left Side Of Head With Involuntary Twitches. Reasons ?

I suddenly started having sharp shooting pains on the left side of my head. They come out of nowhere, last for only about 2 seconds, but when it happens I can feel it radiate to my left eye/left side of my face. They come and go every 5-10 minutes. My head involuntary twitches because it is so sudden and sharp. Just becoming very bothersome and worrying me. No blurred vision , nausea , vomiting , etc..

hello there,
this seems to be a case of "trigeminal neuralgia" to me.
this is caused by compression of a cranial nerve called trigeminal nerve that takes the senses from your face to the brain.

in many cases the cause of this compression can not be ascertained an some it is associated with some other neurological illnesses.

you should better consult you doctor or neurologist for a complete evaluation that might require an imaging study.

treatment is available in form of medicines in majority of cases, but in few surgery is required for decompression of the trigeminal nerve.
