Shin Injury, Large Bump, Swelling, Can Walk, Put Pressure On It, Purple Discolouration Along Foot, Fluid In Ankle, Itchiness. Treatment?
Hi, my husband got hit by a softball on his shin on Friday( 4 days ago). He immidiatly got a large goose egg on the shin and later that night got swollen. We iced it and the swelling went down some. He can walk on the foot and put pressure on it without much discomfort. Yesterday he got a purple area along his foot and a fluid built up at the ankle. He said it feels better and itchy somewhat. Do we need to be worried?

your description points to bruises/ ecchymoses after soft tissue injury.
it seems to be soft tissue blunt injury and may not be serious.
pl. see a doc if not better soon.
try elevating the affected leg on pillows most of the time. the swelling will reduce.
is there any open wound?
post a photo if possible
