Short Of Breath, Light Headed, Fatigued After Stopping Smoking. Echo Indicates Slight Valve Leak, Numbness In Left Leg. Reasons ?
After 40 plus years I stopped smoking seven months ago. I am currently chewing a 2mg nicotemne gum two to three times a day average. Within the last month or so Im short of breath, experience light headedness and fatigued. When I was a child I had rheumatic fever, and ten or so years ago I had a Echocardiogram which indicated a slight valve leak, nothing that my family doctor seemed to be concerned with. And if I may add for the last couple years of so my left leg fro the hip to the knne had has some degree of numbing.
Very hard to tell what might be causing your shortness of breath without further information. I would suggest a repeat echocardiogram, and EKG, a walking desaturation test and a full series pulmonary function test.
