Should I Be Concerned About Hip Pain Caused After Total Hip Replacement?
I experience sudden debilitating (it makes me double over , but is brief in duration) pain in the front of my left hip joint. I had a total hip replacement (LEFT) 11/2011. I do not have metal on metal, mine is ceramic by DePue-not sure of correct spelling. I do have spinal stenosis in the lumbar region L3-S1, I believe.
Hello, Most of the people are suffer from hip pain after several years of hip replacement. They commonly have inflammation called bursitis or tendonitis. Also, Muscle weakness around the joint can lead to fatigue and even sprains and strains, which can cause pain. Typically, such conditions can be treated successfully with 1 Anti -inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen and steroids 2. Rest 3. Exercises 4. Physiotherapy As you have Spinal Stenosis, please do the CT and MRI Lumbar spine and consult a neurologist.
Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
