Should I Be Concerned If Blood Glucose Levels Rise After Meals?
Hello. I am a 42 yr old woman. I have a history of Thyroid Cancer and Graves Disease. The last few weeks I have bad trouble getting rid of a yeast infection and have been extremely tired. I bought a blood glucose monitor to check my sugar. both of my parents and 3 of my siblings are diabetic. Before lunch my levels were 94 and then 3 hours after eating (a sandwich and a bag of chips) my levels were 211. Should I be concerned with this or is what I ate driving my levels up?
Hello, Any random blood sugar level above 200 is strongly suggestive of diabetes mellitus. However for exact confirmation, you should get fasting and PP blood sugar levels along with HBA1c done. Your symptoms of repeatedly acqiring a yeast infection and continuous fatigue also suggest the strong suspicion of diabetes. Once sugar is confirmed, then take all the measures to control your blood sugar levels like proper diet control, regular aerobic exercises and appropriate medications. Thanks
