Should I Be Worried Of My Gastroscopy Report?

hello,

I just had a gastroscopy. In a part of the report is written "he has an irregular area of tissue in the distal oesophagus, about 2 cm in length, at 40cm, that is non-circumferential and fiable". Biopsy sent and referred for CT. CLO Test -ve. Slightly anemic.
how much should I worry?

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is important to review the biopsy results. There is no need to worry much as most of the time tissue growths are of benign nature. Please discuss the biopsy report with your lab and doctor and confirm the nature of the growth. Should there be any tumor, it is in its earliest stages and nearly completely treatable. Do not worry.
