Should I Consult A Doctor For Bump On Head And Lower Back Pain After A Fall?

I fell down on my wooden steps yesterday. I landed on my back, had a bump on my head. Today my lower back hurts, my core (stomache, etc.) feels like I exercised for 24 hours straight, it hurts a little when I take a deep breath. Should I see a doctor? I have a high deductible insurance and don't want to pay for xrays if I don't have to.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you only have soft tissue injury to the ribs and muscles.

You may consider resting , the application of cold compress or ice pack and the use of anti inflammatory pain killers.
This includes medication such as ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, aspirin or celebrex.

These should be used on a full stomach.

If you do not note any slight improvement within 24 to 36 hours or there is any worsening of symptoms then you should consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
