SIr I am suffering from tinnitus suddenly in my left ear since 10 days my doctor gave me antiviral treatment for 5 days now he wants to start the treatment with 60 mg prednisolon with tapering dose of 10 mg per day for one week then please what should i do i heard that steroids are harmful for renal function
Steroids definitely causes many side effects on chronic use.But gradual increase in dose and gradual tapering of the drug dose for a week can be done. The side effects are less and benefits could be more when used for short durations such as a week.Continue treatment as per physician order.Incase of chronic use,Renal function test can be carried out. Further management can be decided based on test results.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
