Should I Be Worried About Positive TMT Test And Is Angiography Recommended?

Hi, I am 37 year old male with no major problems. Recently in two regular helath checkups over 2-3 years, my TMT came positive both the times and the doctor recommended angiography. I doubt if it is really needed, as I can easily walk(brisk) for 45 minutes, climb stairs etc. and have never felt any discomfort during exercises. Also, all other blood tests are normal like trigycerides, cholestrol etc.My question is do I need to take it seriously?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

TMT is a test which reveals the cardiac stress and stamina that you have to endure physical activity. It is best to get an echocardiography to know if there are any residual changes in the functioning of the heart. Then it can be followed up by a CT angiography. This can reveal the blood flowing through the coronary system and its branches. Cath lab angiography may be done only if there are blockages in CT angiography.
