Should I Go For Chest Checkup As Get Sharp Pain Whenever I Eat Or Drink Anything?
Sometimes I get chest pain that radiates to my back after eating or drinking. I've noticed it happens more often when I am eating bread or drinking soda. It's a sharp, stabbing pain and it occurs where my sternum is and in the equivalent part on my back. What could this be?
Hi, Thanks for your query. Chest pain as you have told is little bit classical of acid peptic disorder and related GERD. I think you must go for barium meal and if facilities exist upper GI endoscopy to get the diagnosis. Empirically you may try drugs like omeprazole 20-40 mg per day, And above all avoiding gastric irritants like spicy hot food, soda, etc will be of greater value...
Best wishes
