Should I Lower The Insulin Dosage Tonight To Avoid Lower Reading In The Morning?

I am 55 year old female and a diabetic and have been working on lowering my blood sugars. The last couple of days they have been 72, 74, 97 and this morning it was fasting 64. I do have a message into my Dr and I am hoping he will call me tomorrow. My question is I take 58 units of Lantus at bedtime and I am concerned should I lower the dosage tonight to avoid the lower reading in the morning? At this time my reading is 81.

Dear sir

Yes, obviously you need to lower the dosage of lantus in the bed time.

Lantus contains Glargine which is an anologue acidic insulin which controls the basal or fasting sugars effectively.

Secondly reduce the dosage by 4 units as it is stardard indication.

Thirdly if you still experience low sugars even after the dosage reduction then you need to reduce the dosage still by 2 to 4 units

Avoid hypoglycemia.

Thanks
