Should I Postpone My Biopsy Date Because Of Stomach Ache After I Eat?

I went to my family doctor yesterday for lumps in my groin area. There are roughly 7-8 all ranging in size from a small pinpoint formation to larger dime sized lumps. My doctor referred me to a general surgeon to have a biopsy done and to attempt removal of lumps. Today I ate a burger and fries and started to have a stomach ache immediately after I was done eating. I, in my 41 years of life and being a Chef, have never, had my stomach ache after eating. Please advise? Should I see if I could get my biopsy date moved forward because of this symptom?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

With the history of eating a burger from outside, possibly you have an intestinal infection as the cause of your pain in stomach. If I were your doctor, I would first treat your intestinal infection, before subjecting you to an invasive procedure, which is not an emergent condition as such. So I would advise you to postpone the date of your biopsy.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in planning your treatment. Thanks for using the health care magic forum for your query on health. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
