Should The Mass Be Removed In View Of History Of Breast Cancer?
In December of 2012 while doing a cat scan for something else it was discovered that I had a small mass on my adrenal gland. 16 months later while having another cat scan for something they discovered the mass doubled in size -- it is now almost 3 cent. The past year I was dianosed and treated for breast cancer. It has been recommended that the gland be removed. Do you agree?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Considering this size change I agree that it should be surgically treated since it may grow further and cause some difficulties later in life. If this is present for more than 3 years than this is not likely to be malignant tumor but anyway you should not take that risk since adrenal tumors can be easily removed even laparoscopically if available in your place. Such tumors may also be hormonally active and cause significant systemic symptoms in future so I am really on the side of surgery at this point.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
