Should We Moisten The Tongue Tissue If It Is Peeling ?
Hello, my father is close to dying (he's at home and a hospice is helping us). We are trying to make him as comfortable as possible. He has not eaten or drank liquids (he can't swallow; we have to thicken it to give it to him) in a few days. We are trying to treat him symptomatically. I just looked at his tongue and it looked like a piece of 1 sq in of paper was on his tongue. When I looked closely, it was his tongue surface was peeling (papillae). What can I do? Should I moisten the tissue or put a cream on it (e.g. glycerin or vaseline)? Thank you.
Hello, In this condition You can use a mouthwash named Tantum, as this mouth wash can give him symptomatic relief. It can be used thrice daily and even before food intake as it will give him relief. Hope it will help you.
