Shoulder Popping, Torn Tendons, Tissue Breaking Up, Excruciating Pain. Had MRI. What Does It Show?
I am trying to find some information for my mother who does not have internet. The situation: my stepfather got injured at work has been dealing with CA workman's comp. His shoulder was popping and they discovered that he had torn tendons. He had surgery on his shoulder where they put in a bunch of hardware, he still did not have full range of motion, so they did medical manipulation. After the manipulation his shoulder was popping again. The therapist says that it is scar tissue breaking up while she causes him excruciating pain. They finally did an MRI and the hardware made it to difficult to tell if the tendons are torn again, but it is not ruled out. the doctor is ignoring that for now saying that he thinks its scar tissue causing the popping and he is investigating the possibility of the pain being from the nerves. My main question is how long would it have taken for scar tissue to form? Any additional insight would also be helpful. Thanks.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The persistent popping sensation in the shoulder after the surgery could be related to a decrease ion the joint lubricant. This needs joint lubricant supplements, hot fomentation and pain killers for relief. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
