Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Children who are sick can lose their appetite fast. Kindly note the colour of her urine too. A dark coloured urine can suggest jaundice which can suggest the loss of appetite and pain in abdomen and pale coloured stool. Kindly get her examined by a doctor and investigated.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,

RKK

OBGYN Dr. Dr. Asra Ishtiaq Ahmed's  Response
Hello there,

Although gastritis is common in children and can result in reduced appetite, you must keep in mind that loss of appetite with clay coloured or chalky stools is also a feature of early hepatitis.

Hepatitis can present with vague symptoms ealry in the course of disease.

Yellowish discolouration of the eyes with high coloured urine are other features. At this stage you child needs a complete blood count with liver function tests. Avoid all forms of outside food and give her only distilled water.

Get an appointment with your Pediatrician at the earliest.

Take care.
