Skin Dying After Skin Sparring Mastectomy. What Will They Do ?
On Dec 16, 2010 I had a skin sparing mastectomy . I have had a infection and now where they cut me I have skin that has died along the surgical site. Along the site which I was cut straight across with (nipple area removed) the plastic surgeron removed the tape and within 2 days a area underneath where they cut me is shaped like a upside down square and the skin si black and dead. What will they do?

The area would have necrosed probably due to tight suturing or damage to blood supply in that area. The treatment will be to remove that area and do re-suturing, this time not too tight. Eat high protein diet. Drink plenty of water. Consult your Surgeon in this regard.

It may be because of tight sutures.
Sometime the area gets necrosed post-surgery.
Whether simple creams will work or you need re-suturing depends on the problem which can be judged much better by a surgeon.
