This often requires mainly symptomatic treatment with use of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs or simple analgesics depending on the case, passage clearing and washing agents like saline water and antihistaminic agents. The drugs taken by your child now in my humble opinion are sufficient. Observing the child carefully is fundamental in its management. Symptoms like severe breathlessness, intense cough, altered general health status or increased fever despite analgesics could be an indication of a bacterial infection. At this stage, you do not need antibiotics. Observe carefully and report to your family physician in case any of the above cited aggravation symptoms are noticed.
