Small Child, Severe Cough, Gets Worse At Night, Loss Of Appetite, Mild Fever. Serious Symptoms?
i have a 3 year old who s in good health but he has a bad cough . he s had it since tuesday but it just got worse last night and is generally worse at night period. his appetite is a little worse to. and he has a slight fever of 100 degrees. other then that he s ok. he s playing and does everything else he usually does. my wife wants to take him to the emergency room because the cough is worse. what do you think?

by history it seem that its upper respiratory tract infection
but possibility of lower respiratory tract can nor be ruled out.
just visit to pediatrician to see for chest spasm so that medicine for cough could be prescribed weither
antihistaminic ( chloropheniramin/ promethazine) will be effective or Beta blocker is to be given .
for fever just give paracetomol .
if fever increase and did not respond antibiotic may be needed
