Son Has A Pain Under The Armpits. Seems Tender When Pushed. Felt Something Moving. Problem?

Hello,
my son is 15 and has a pain under his armpit, I do not feel any lumps but it is tender when you push on it. I did try and push a bit deeper and I thought I felt something small moving in there. It is a hit and miss and I feel it sometimes and sometimes not. I am very worried. We are going to try and see a doctor in the next couple of days, but I haven't slept....

Welcome to HCM.The tenderness in the armpit could be related to an inflamed lymph node in the brachial/armpit area which hosts at least 5 groups of lymph nodes draining different areas including neck, chest, back, arm and forearm.A skin infection or any other infection can cause this tenderness. What you are feeling is probably the many lymph nodes which are small and tend to slip on pressure. It would help if he is examined by a doctor who can treat any infection/inflammation causing the problem.
