Spotting After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pills. Need To Take Pregnancy Test?

I took the emergency pill Nordette twice during March and got bleeding/spotting after taking the pills on (wasn't sure if it was my period) on March 6 and March 26. So far, I have not gotten my real period once during April and I am worried that I am pregnant. However, last Tuesday, I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Other than the late/missed period, I have no other symptoms of pregnancy. Should I take another pregnancy test?

Hi,
Emergency pill causes period disturbance as it interferes with the hormonal milieu of the body. As you used the pill twice during a single month, the impact will be more. Ideally, use of the emergency pill should be restricted to only once or twice a year and not more. You should consult a specialist if you have already passed two weeks after your expected period. Pregnancy may be excluded as a remote risk if you consumed the pills within the stipulated time period. Hope your query is clarified. Take care.
