I stepped down a curb wrong a couple of days ago, heard a loud crack, and went down. Went to the hospital, got x-rays and the doctor said he had thought I had a Jones Fracture but had a sprain instead. I've been trying to stay off the foot, ice it, etc. but I can't turn my foot inwards or outwards (side to side), which makes it very hard to walk without a cane. I've been taking pain medication but nothing seems to really relieve the pain and I'm not sure what I can do to make my foot heal faster. I work as a teller, which means I'm standing and walking around a lot. I'm not sure if the injury is bad enough that I need a brace or anything else. The doctor just sort of gave me meds and left without saying much else. I've never sprained anything and I've only ever broken my wrist so I have no idea how to treat this injury besides what google tells me.
