Sprained MCL From Sports Injury. Treated With Braces And Crutches. Seeking Professional Opinion On The Recovery
I'm 15 and I've been in a sports injury (football) for about 4-5 weeks already. I got hit from the side and my knee dislocated. (Surprisingly minor pain was given after the blow) After the game I of course went to the ER and took x rays and everything was in place. From they they made a conclusion I sprained my MCL ( slightly ). From then I have seen a physical thereapist to view my knee. He agreed also that my MCL was sprained. I was put into a brace for a couple week and of course used crutches. 2-3 I got off the crutches and started to walk perfectly. NowI'm just concerned about if these certain movements in my knee are normal and want a professional answer to see if it's fine or not.
hello, mcl or the medial collateral ligament tears can be graded . if the tears are mild they heal in 2 to 3 weeks . severe tears usually take longer and may need surgery. the very fact that you don't have any pain now plus no symptoms of instability , you should be fine . get back to quadriceps and hamstring exercises at the end of one month. it should allow you to egg back to your normal lifestyle at the earliest .
