Stomach Ache, Greenish Black Stool. What Is Happening?
Hi, I had a pretty bad stomach ache all night so I barely slept. It was a crampy stomach feeling. This morning when I went to the bathroom, my stool was brownish green on the outside, but black on the inside, followed by flake black stool. Any idea what the problem may be? I haven't taken iron supplements. Saw that online.
If your pain were located in the upper middle abdomen and the stool was tarry like black, bleeding from peptic ulcer is most probable. You may also have chest burning, nausea, vomiting, weakness. This symptoms could be present some time before (especially abdominal pain) triggered by a meal. Other possible reason of your symptoms is gastrointestinal infection due to food poisoning for example. As bleeding from peptic ulcer can be a serious and life threatening I suggest you to visit your doctor as soon as possible, have blood work and in case of low hemoglobin level, gastroscopy should be done.
Hope this will help. Regards.
