Suffer With Chronic Migraine, Headaches Reduced Considerably After Eliminating MSG. Would That Point Me To Be Amine Adverse?

Hello, my name is Andy. I m 59. Wt 195, 5 6 . Muscular. Exercise very much. I ve suffered from Migraines all my life since age 25. The headaches have decreased over the years in intensity as I eliminate one item from my diet after another. MSG was one of the ingredients I had discovered was a headache cause. I still was getting headaches. Now, I ve read that modified cornstarch has natural MSG. I did an experiment and eliminated modified cornstarch for a week. As soon as I reintroduced it, I received a horribly miserable headache and reached for my Imitrex . Is the MSG in modified cornstarch sufficient to trigger a migraine? Would that point to me being -amine adverse?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.

MSG is well known to exacerbate migraines in many people. This is one of the ingredients in a Chinese food, and many people get their migraine headaches after Chinese food.

So, it just means that you have migraines that are sensitive to MSG, and not necessarily that you are amine-adverse.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
