Suffered A Concussion. CT Scan Showed No Fractures Or Bleeding. Reason For Headache And Nausea?
My daughter suffered a concussion 4 days ago. She went to the ER the first night and they did a CT scan and said they saw no fractures or bleeding. She is still having concussion symptoms, headaches, nausea and memory difficulties. She is getting plenty of rest. Should she get another CT to make sure there is no bleeding or blood clot?
CT scan showing normal is a good thing. Serial CT scan could be done later in case a gradual intracranial lesion has developed. Now depending on the degree of concussion it might not be necessary to request another CT. Headache and nausea might just be occurring temporary since she had a head trauma. Just get him some analgesic pain killers for the headache. If the symptoms persist you can get an CT scan or MRI better still.
She should continue the rest and analgesic pain killers for a while.
Hope this helped
