Eczema is usually due sensitivity to certain allergic factors. I may also run in families. People usually have symptoms on and off. Identification and avoidance of aggravating and precipitating factors is one the best treatment strategies. The problem of eczema itself is like that - difficult to treat in some resistant cases. Main treatment options for symptoms include emollients, topical corticosteroids. Discuss about these with your treating doctor. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
