Suffering From Filariasis. Prescribed Antibiotics And Hetrazine . How To Reduce Swelling And Infection Of Filariasis?

My mother suffering with filaria. from 20 years her left leg is stand with swelling.Now she is suffering with fungal(like septic) under feet.After that some few days swelling come to right leg also.10 days back she is fel down in the house,after that swelling come and stand to right leg.

Now she is taken some antibiotic medicines two times per day and pain killer 3times and Hetrazine 100mg two times(afterNoon and after dinner) for reducing that right leg swelling and filaria infection.

so please tell me how can reduce filaria swellings and infection.

Hello, thanks for the query. Filariasis is a disease in which if worm impacted in lymph nodes so there become swelling if at the level of groin than the swelling will be on that side as in your's mother case. Previously it was on the left leg ,now on the right leg i.e still worms are there Diagnosis has made already. So diethylcarmazine is the drug of choice but add in this Albedazole . Ivermectine is also one more choice. In the impacted area there are more chances of bacterial infection so please take care of this also. As disease is from long time and spread all over the body so treatment will take long time to cure . Regular blood check up is also an important step. Take care of personal hygiene is necessary because otherwise some more problems will arise. Good luck . Dr.HET.
