Suffering From Burning Chest Pain And Palpitations. Normal EKG And BP. What Could Be The Reason?
I've been experiencing burning chest pains and palpitations for the last 3-4 weeks. Finally couldn't handle it and went to the er. They did blood work to check heart enzymes twice to make sure. They both came back normal. Had an EKG that was normal. Blood pressure was normal. Heart rate was 60. Blood oxygen was 100%. Was released saying it was not related to my heart. I'm still experiencing the symptoms. Should I see my regular doctor or was I misdiagnosed and I should see a cardiologist. I also apply ice pack to my shoulders nightly and recently they seem to trigger palpitations. Is that possible. They also said I might have acid reflux and or anxieties.
As your cardiac profile came out to be normal, then it is suggestive of acid reflux which may be due to spicy food or stress. Acidity causes burning chest pains and occasionally palpitations.
In these type of cases i will prefer a month long course of PPI like pantoprazole daily before breakfast. If there is improvement after that i'll advise Upper GI endoscopy to rule out any gastric or duodenal ulcers.
