Suffering From Cough For Long Time, On Macardis 40mg As BP Medication. Please Advice.
I have been coughing since 22/7/2013. I have seen 3doctors (from the same practice) the last one actually decided to change my blood pressure medication after I pointed it out. I am now taking Macardis 40mg. That was two weeks ago, my coughing is not as bad but still annoying. What should I look forward to. Thanks in advance.
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your heath query.
I am so sorry to hear about this persistent coughing. What blood pressure medication were you taking before? If this medication is something that ends with-pril like captopril, enalapril, lisinopril, etc (Angitensinogen converting enzyme inhibitors), then I think that was the possible cause and you would continue to feel better. Also, you are already reporting some relief with the change and I will only suggest that you monitor a little longer before seeking further aggressive medical attention. We fall sick in a day but recovery takes a lot longer than that. Be exercise some patience.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for clarifications or more information if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD.
