Suffering From Dizziness. On Clonazepam For Anxiety. Nurse Not Prescribing The Drug. What To Do?

Hello, I have suffered dizziness for years up and down (not spinning) although when I would quickly turn my head it was like a magic 8 ball feeling.
I was tested for everything including MS & Parkinsons and told it might be mal debarque syndrome - nothing they could do for me .

Fast forward -after suffering for years of that- I developed GAD with fasciculations all over my body horrible anxiety ( apparently common to dizzy sufferers)
they gave me clonazepam , anxiey gone AND the awful dizziness
it's been a lifesaver - to Live again.
Now I've moved to another state and the small town nurse practitioner ( only medical profesional )
thinks I'm a drug addict and has told me I must taper off and she won't be prescribing - I'm really flummoxed because she won't even look at my records.
What can I do?

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. It is hard to have GAD and being on medications for a long time such as the time you have been must be difficult. However, GAD is a chronic condition that is usually best treated with short term sedatives and long term SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). I hope you are doing your best to make things better with using non medication techniques like yoga and pranayama. I also hope you take the advise of you nurse practitioner or contact the supervisor for your NP if you are not satisfied with the care you are getting. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
