Suffering From Laryngitis
My grandson had a cold and as a result of him I acquired a sore throat for two days followed by a runny nose one day and ultimately laryngitis where I have no audible speech.THe phlegm is greenish. I di;d go to the hospital walk in clinic last evening and wrote my problem for I could not speak.She prescribed Z-pack 250 6 tabs, which I thought would interfere with my Ziac 2.5 with diurectic, she assured me it was okay but my cardiologist previously thought not.I took the first two and still cannot speak.Any suggestions.I have Pine Bros.cough drops, tea, soup water, Robitusan DM.Thanks so much. Hi,
Laryngitis is welling/infection of' 'sound box' in throat.-so it affects voice.To get good result of treatment one needs to-
_ avoid/stop speaking( give rest to the part.)
- hot saline gargles/drinking warm water/ nasl inhalation of medicated vapor would take care of cold.
- avoid eating cold/sour things.
- Take medicines as prescribed.
Z pak 250 is an antibiotic ( Azithromysin)and not diuretic please take it .
Usually antiinflammatery-analgesic drug ( Combiflam) is given along with it.
Anti allergic medicine (Cetrizine) does help.
You will be alright within a week.
All the medicines to be taken under care of your doctor,dose as per his suggestion.
