Suffering From Reoccurring Severe Cellulitis, Feet Remain Swollen And Painful. No Relief With Medications And Antibiotics.

my husband has been suffering from reoccuring severe cellulitis for almost a year, dr's and specialist have treated him tested him and given him many different medications and antibiotics of which none of them has helped for long. it seems like things are healing and then one day it just goes back to being angry looking. like his body is either becoming imune to the meds or his body is fighting the meds. his legs are continually swollen to the point that the wounds on his feet weep fluids and remain open. he says it is painfull all the time and very rarely feels good. he has even went home from the hospital with iv meds for 3 weeks and it still didnt get well.. HELP..... what else can i ask the dr's. they seem lost.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Non healing or recuring cellulitis may be due to presence of diabetis, or some chronic infection of the leg like osteo myelitis may be present.
I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. you may need to have M.R.I. for confirmation.
I usually get the culture and sensitivity of the discharge, and treat according to the result.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
